On October 14, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new headquarters of h/p/cosmos sports & medical gmbh and h/p/cosmos holding gmbh at Wimpasinger Straße 1 in Traunstein took place! The construction of the new company headquarters on the 26,000 m² site is the next consecutive milestone in the history of the company, which was founded in Waging am See back in 1988.
Technology and reliability “Made in Germany” paired with a spirit of innovation – these core competencies have made h/p/cosmos one of the world's leading suppliers of treadmills, ergometers, training equipment, and unweighting devices for medicine, diagnostics, therapy, sports, and science over the past 37 years. More than 80 employees of the medium-sized, owner-managed and independently financed company manufacture around 800 treadmills annually for neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation, training systems for top athletes, Olympic training centers and universities, as well as biomechanical measurement systems for the shoe industry and robotics.
Company founder Franz Harrer welcomed Traunstein’s mayor Dr. Christian Hümmer and representatives of the city administration and building authority, Dr. Birgit Seeholzer (Chiemgau GmbH), as well as representatives of Goldbeck from Rosenheim, the company responsible for planning and construction.
Of course, the Harrer family was also present, as were the department and management teams of h/p/cosmos, represented by Managing Director Richard Schmidt, Managing Director Alexander Böck, Authorized Signatory Dr. Björn Zimmermann and Authorized Signatory Nadine Schott.
Franz Harrer emphasized that the new location in Traunstein offers ideal conditions for h/p/cosmos and promotes the company's healthy growth. With over 6,000 m² of space for production and storage (construction phase 1), the four existing production buildings and warehouses in Nussdorf-Traunstein can be concentrated in a new hall. The convenient location with good motorway connections offers ideal conditions for the internationally oriented company, which has an export share of 80%. At the same time, the new, modern location and proximity to the city of Traunstein increase the company's attractiveness for skilled workers and trainees. In further construction phases, the production hall will be gradually expanded with additional production and administration buildings as well as exhibition rooms and conference rooms, creating the h/p/cosmos “Diagnostic and Locomotion Alliance Campus” (“DALA Campus”).
Mayor Dr. Hümmer also addressed a warm welcome to all those present and praised h/p/cosmos for its history to date, its market position, and its positive growth signals.
Additional buildings and commercial space will soon be added to the new h/p/cosmos DALA Campus for lease to partner companies and alliances in the fields of diagnostics and movement in sports, therapy and science.
Franz Harrer thanked the city of Traunstein, Mayor Dr. Hümmer, and all those involved for their efficient and excellent cooperation to date. He is looking forward to a quick and accident-free construction process and concluded the groundbreaking ceremony with a joint lunch. Completion of construction phase 1 is planned for fall 2026.
