When it comes to performance testing, h/p/cosmos treadmills are the tool of choice for most leading sports clubs, training facilities and universities around the globe.
Speeding up or slowing down a treadmill, changing or lowering elevation can be difficult and distracting when running or cycling at higher speeds. To solve this, we developed an automatic speed and elevation control system for our treadmills based on the athlete’s position by combining the proven coscom protocol and the localization of the subject via Microgate Optogait/Optojump bars.
The system is called h/p/cosmos speedcontrol and we are looking forward to sharing further details and insights soon!
Professional performance testing takes place behind closed doors most of the time. One of the leading German YouTube channels “freekickerz” visited the UKE Athleticum in Hamburg and recorded in-depth insights to the procedures and analysis of such a performance test.
A medical treadmill, which is used for physiotherapy, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, ergometry, cardiopulmonary stress test and diagostics as well as for performance diagnostics is a risk class IIb medical device, either when used as stand alone device in a medical environment or when used in connection with an ECG, EMG, ergospirometry or blood pressure monitoring device.
Medical treadmills are risk class IIb medical devices:
Learn how to seamlessly integrate gaitway 3d force, torque and pressure data into Qualisys QTM 2021.2 software.
Dr. Björn Zimmermann (h/p/cosmos) and Guillaume Bastien (Arsalis) are going to give an application focussed introduction to this amazing feature!

On Wednesday, 10th November 2021, the Global Sports PD High Performance Summit took place.
Together with our Australian distributor and partner AI Medical, we were delighted to be the major sponsors of this event, bringing together world-class speakers and presenter to deepen discussions about trends, innovations, resources and global opportunities.
Moments are crucial and literally every second counts, when it comes to a stroke. The World Stroke Organisation has rolled out its #timeisprecious campaign for 2021 to raise awareness for the signs of a stroke and the necessity of immediate emergency care.
More than 15 Million people around the globe suffer from a stroke every year. Even though most of them are adults, also children can be affected. With the neuronal system getting harmed, communication and motoric disabilities can be affected and survivors might even stay in need of care.
Last week, our big boys installed an oversize and high performance treadmill saturn 300/100r as well as a pulsar 3p at the Universität Basel. The joint experts of proxomed Medizintechnik GmbH – Schweiz and h/p/cosmos installed both treadmills in the brand new building that will house the Department for Sports, Motion and Health!
Webinar | instrumented treadmills | biomechanics | gait analysis & training
Last week, our partner zebris hosted a webinar on “Gait analysis & gait training in rehabilitation. The use of instrumented zebris treadmill systems in clinical applications”. The instrumented pluto treadmill in the zebris showroom was the perfect biomechanics tool for this very expertise and hands-on session led by Prof. Dr. Thomas Joellenbeck and Dr. Juliane Pietschmann, both working at the Klinik Lindenplatz (Bad Sassendorf/Germany). The recording is now available on YouTube!
