Description of the problem including the determined cause:

Almost all h/p/cosmos treadmills built in 2014 and 2015 (except for some models with safety arch) are equipped with a red ripcord and a clip (article number cos101699) that stops the running belt automatically through a magnetic switch in case a fall occurs in order to minimize the effects of the fall.
A malfunction of the ripcord has no additional fall risk, because even a properly applied and functional ripcord cannot prevent a fall!

Richard Schmidt becomes a manager:
The h/p/cosmos team celebrated 20 years of service of Richard Schmidt on Friday,
March 11th.
Richard Schmidt began his activity with h/p/cosmos in 1996 as an assembly engineer and in the customer service. Later he became technical support manager.
Since 2007 Richard Schmidt has been active as an authorized representative in the Executive Board. On the anniversary celebrations for 20 years of seniority Richard Schmidt has now been appointed Managing Director of h/p/cosmos sports & medical gmbh.

Risk assessment:

h/p/cosmos has been using and checking the COBRA® buckles for more than 10 years. Within the incoming and outgoing inspections h/p/cosmos has been performing a functional and safety inspection. At h/p/cosmos there has never been any malfunction of a COBRA® buckles so far. Within each annually required maintenance and safety checks, an authorized service technician checks all safety- related functions of your device. All consumables (also textile parts like the safety harness) are checked as well. If needed they are replaced.

The biggest dream of Arthur Lanigan-O´Keeffe as a child was to be an Olympic Gold-Medalist. He could fulfil his dream at the Olympic Games in Rio by winning the modern Penthatlon. As European Champion 2015 he is already qualified for the Games.

Hard training and performance tests are parts of his preparation for the Olympic Games. His performance diagnostic at the "Irish Institute of Sport" in Dublin shows his great performance level and his enormous will.

Former German World Class Athletes like Britta Steffen, Faris Al-Sultan etc. are getting tested in a German TV show. They are running on the treadmill h/p/cosmos pulsar 3p at Technical University (TU) Munich. (From Minute 2:50):
